Speaking at a public programme in Balotra, Rajasthan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi explained how India successfully navigated the global fuel crisis despite soaring crude oil prices and severe disruptions in international supply chains. He highlighted how timely policy decisions, strategic planning and effective diplomacy ensured uninterrupted supplies of petrol and diesel across the country. He spoke about the government’s decision to reduce excise duty, absorb significant losses to protect consumers, diversify fuel imports from more than 40 countries and continuously expand India’s refining capacity.
